Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for streusel)
- 1/4 cup cold butter (for streusel)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Add to wet mixture alternating with milk. Mix just until combined.
- Pour half the batter into loaf pan. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar with remaining cinnamon. Sprinkle half over the batter. Add remaining batter, top with remaining cinnamon sugar, and swirl with a knife.
- Make streusel by mixing 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup cold butter until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of the batter.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
- Optional: Drizzle with glaze once completely cooled.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients for best results.
- If the top browns too fast, tent with foil halfway through baking.
- Let the loaf cool fully before slicing for clean cuts.
- Add nuts or glaze to customize your loaf.
