Description

Golden, crispy chicken layered with rich marinara sauce and melted mozzarella, all tucked into soft slider buns and baked until perfectly toasty. These comforting, shareable sliders are ideal for parties, family dinners, or game nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 soft slider buns
  • 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken cutlets, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a third bowl.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  4. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Fry the coated chicken for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove and set aside.
  6. Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
  7. Layer the fried chicken evenly over the buns, spoon marinara sauce on top, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese.
  9. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
  11. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the skillet while frying to keep the crust crisp.
  • Avoid adding too much marinara sauce to prevent soggy buns.
  • You can prepare the chicken a day in advance and refrigerate until ready to assemble.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for best texture.
