Description

Soft chocolate cookies topped with sweet maraschino cherries and finished with a light icing drizzle. These Cherry Kiss Cookies are tender, rich, and festive, perfect for holidays or everyday treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1820 maraschino cherries, drained and patted dry
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Scoop dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Gently press one maraschino cherry into the center of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until set but still soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool completely.
  10. Whisk powdered sugar with milk to form a smooth icing and drizzle over cooled cookies.
