Description
This cheesy broccoli frittata is a quick, satisfying meal perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Packed with fresh broccoli, melty cheddar, and fluffy eggs, it’s easy to whip up and even easier to love.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups chopped broccoli florets
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If your skillet isn’t oven-safe, prep a baking dish with a light oil coating.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until just tender.
- Spread the cooked veggies evenly in the skillet. Pour the egg mixture over the top, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly across the surface.
- Let the frittata cook undisturbed on the stovetop for 2 to 3 minutes to set the edges. Then transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the center is just set and the top is golden.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This helps it hold shape and makes for cleaner cuts.
- Slice into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature. A fresh side salad makes the perfect companion.
Notes
- Use fresh broccoli for the best texture and flavor.
- Grate your own cheese for a smoother melt.
- Don’t overbake the frittata—pull it from the oven when the center is just set.
- Add fresh herbs like chives or parsley for extra flavor.
