Description
Moist, flavorful banana bread swirled with rich caramel for an irresistible twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash bananas. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold into wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Drizzle half the caramel over it. Add remaining batter, then top with remaining caramel.
- Swirl caramel gently with a knife or skewer to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean (caramel may stick slightly).
- Let cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep the loaf tender.
- Warm caramel slightly for easier swirling.
- Store leftovers wrapped in foil for 3–4 days or freeze slices individually.
