Ingredients
- Phyllo Dough Sheets: 8 sheets, thawed if frozen
- Feta Cheese: 8 ounces, crumbled
- Honey: 1/4 cup
- Chili Flakes: 1 teaspoon
- Sesame Seeds: 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Fresh Thyme: 1 teaspoon, finely chopped
- Olive Oil: 1/4 cup
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a muffin tin.
- In a small bowl, mix the crumbled feta with chopped thyme.
- Cut the phyllo sheets into 3-inch squares and keep the remaining sheets covered with a damp cloth.
- Layer 3 phyllo squares in each muffin tin cup, brushing lightly with olive oil between each layer. Spoon a tablespoon of the feta mixture into the center.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and crisp.
- While baking, warm the honey in a small saucepan with chili flakes over low heat.
- Drizzle warm hot honey over the baked phyllo cups, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Keep phyllo covered while working to prevent it from drying out.
- Use a pastry brush for even olive oil coverage.
- Do not overload the filling to maintain crisp texture.
- Serve immediately or reheat in a hot oven to restore crunch.
